Discover the best in local craft breweries and prominent wineries at the 3^rd annual Hop ‘N Vine. It’s a fun event and a perfect opportunity to shop local and support folks who do what they love. This popular event will take place at the Santa Clara Fairgrounds at the Pavilion Hall patio rain or shine. There will also be delicious lite bites, VIP lounge with pasta bar, live entertainment, a history exhibit, and fun games. Unique to the event is Hop ‘N Vine University with enlightening lectures. Wonders on display: Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum

Did you know that the largest collection of Egyptian artifacts on exhibit in western North America is right here in San Jose? It is! The Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum has an impressive collection that includes everything from the early dynasties and new kingdoms. Enjoy a variety of cherished artifacts that includes mummies, jewelry, textiles, tools, vessels, writing materials, sculpture and so much more. It is very rare to have such an up close and personal look at such historical artifacts. You’ve seen them on tv and in the movies, but seeing the real thing for yourself is incredible. The craftsmanship is inspiring. The museum also has a wide variety of weekly workshops, night on the afterlife sleepovers, and junior archaeologist programs. Christmas in the Park: Now through Dec 25

San Jose during the holidays is the best! It’s so festive and fun. The annual Christmas in the Park event is a popular local tradition. This event is chock full of Christmas themed joy including Grinch Night, Dog Day, Reindeer Ranch with a wide variety of beautifully decorated Christmas trees, Snowflake Falls with real snow, beautiful lights, Gingerbread Village, Candy Cane Lane, Mistletoe Row, Santa’s photo booth, North Pole Plaza, food at Santa’s Snack Shack and more. It all takes place at Plaza de Cesar Chavez daily from 9am through midnight. On behalf of everyone at The Pierce, have a safe and happy holiday season!

Bark In The Park: SEPT 15

Bark in the Park™ is the largest dog festival in the United States with more than 15,000 dog lovers and 3,900 dogs.

Enjoy contests, including the popular Dog Costume Contest, Dog/Owner Look-Alike Contest and Tail Wagging Contest, demonstrations of dog agility and specialized dog training, delicious food and drink, and more than 75 vendors with dog-specific goods and services. Money raised from Bark in the Park benefits local community and pet-focused organizations including Humane Society Silicon Valley, San Jose Animal Care Center and the Campus Community Neighborhood Association.

Meditation in the Park: JULY 31

Everyone needs a chance to chill, forget about the cares of the day, and feel refreshed. Participate in a free mediation in the park class offered by the city. It will take place outdoors at St. James Park in San Jose from noon until 1pm. Mediation is a centuries’ old, peaceful practice designed reduce stress, increase self-awareness, boost happiness and joy, improve focus, and be good to yourself. If you can’t make it to this class, try the Calm app or Headspace app. From the convenience of your smart device, you can experience a compassionate and informative mediation led by experts. It also has the Santana Row Farmers Market with fresh and locally sourced produce in a fun outdoor atmosphere. You’ll also find fresh flowers, locally made cheese, fragrant herbs, and even rotisserie chicken. It takes place every Wednesday from 4pm-8pm between Olin Avenue and Olsen Drive.
